Radiographs, or X-rays, are one the most essential tools a dentist can use to help diagnose, treat, and monitor your dental health. X-rays allow us to see underlying structures of your mouth and plan your specific treatments accordingly. We have taken our technology one step further with the use of stunning 3D imaging technology. This allows us to view your mouth’s inner workings in every viewable plane, giving us a greater range of accurate treatment options when necessary.
3D Imaging Diagnostics
Not only do we provide instant 3D digital X-rays, we can digitally enhance the images for better diagnostic capabilities, without sacrificing any of the impressively high resolution. We also offer the use of intraoral cameras that can be used to detect signs of periodontitis, tooth decay, structural abnormalities, and more. With this advanced dental technology, we are able to make your dental care visits less stressful and provide more precise diagnoses and treatments.
Your 3D Imaging Procedure
When you are scheduled to have any 3D cone beam imaging procedures, you will be asked to remove all metal objects. This includes: piercings, jewelry, metal hair accessories, removable dental work etc. If you are pregnant, it is not advised to have any type of radiographs performed. Tell your X-ray technician ahead of time if you have any internal medical devices such as pacemakers, artificial joints, etc. 3D X-rays are proven to be safe, although they do produce a slightly higher amount of radiation than traditional X-rays. Because of this, the procedure will be quick, to limit your body’s exposure to radiation as much as possible. Once the scan is completed, the images with instantaneously be transferred to a viewable screen where we will examine your radiographs and discuss any findings with you.
