It’s finally October, which means we are kicking off the holiday season for 2016! We’re about to enter months full of good food, opportunities to make some happy memories, and what’s sure to include a lot of parties. To keep you on your toes and to help you safeguard your oral health and general health throughout this time, consider a few important details related to the current month.
#1: It’s National Dental Hygiene Month
Surprise! It’s National Dental Hygiene Month! Take this opportunity to tie up any loose ends and get back on track with brushing, flossing, and even dental care with us. If you’re not sure about the best way to brush and floss, come on in for an oral health visit.
#2: It’s Almost Halloween!
Halloween is coming, which means there’s a lot of sugar on the horizon. Take a hint from the fact that this is National Dental Hygiene Month and prepare yourself for the 31st of October. Keep your toothbrush handy and consider drinking water after you eat candy to rinse the sugar from your smile. Brush about 30 minutes after a candy eating session as a measure of protection.
#3: It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As a result, it’s a wonderful time to consider making an appointment with your general practitioner if it’s been more than a year since your last visit or if you aren’t feeling well. We also encourage you to take this moment to schedule the next of your twice-annual oral health visits with us (so we may provide you with your oral cancer screening as an additional measure to keep you nice and healthy).
