Do you know if you’re making the absolute most of your time in the bathroom with your toothbrush and toothpaste? Have you been hoping you’re doing your best but you feel like you’re just doing what you can without adhering to any particular guidelines? To ensure your smile is receiving optimal dental hygiene when it comes to your efforts in brushing, we would like to walk you through a quick review. If there are any areas that could use a bit of sprucing up, now’s your chance to make things better!
Your Brush
Let’s talk about your toothbrush. Do you like it? Are its bristles soft? Is it a nice fit for the shape and size of your mouth (as well as your hand)? If not, you need to make some changes. If so, you’re right on track.
Your Time
How much time are you spending in the bathroom as you go through your dental hygiene routine? Do you ensure your brushing lasts about two minutes each time you brush (at least twice daily)? If you’re not sure, check yourself with a timer.
Your Technique
How’s the ol’ technique holding up? Is it a bit of a free for all or do you know what you’re doing? If you could use a little help with your dental hygiene approach, consider the following:
- No part of your smile is more important. All tooth surfaces need thorough cleaning, so brush it all!
- Your dental tissue along your gumline needs brushing, too.
- Your tongue needs brushing, as well!
