In a single visit, our team can offer major cosmetic transformation with dental bonding and contouring. We can brighten your smile, or even correct issues with the shape! In today’s blog, your Katy, TX, dentist talks about how we can address multiple imperfections in only one visit with our cosmetic treatments.
Starting with a Consultation
To begin, we want a chance to examine your smile and choose the best option for treating cosmetic issues. We will talk to you about your smile, and the imperfections you want to see addressed. We then examine the teeth with digital x-rays and intraoral cameras, so we can assess the cause and extent of your esthetic concerns. From there, we will create a detailed treatment plan to address these imperfections. For many, this could involve treatment in only one visit with dental bonding and contouring.
Dental Bonding
The dental bonding process uses composite resin to treat multiple esthetic issues in one visit, the same material we use to treat tooth decay with our lifelike dental fillings. This blend of acrylic-like and quartz-like particles can be shaded to blend with the tooth, and can last for years to come, providing quality protection for your tooth. Placement is simple, and involves numbing the tooth so we can remove decay and gently etch the outer surface. Our team will then prepare and apply the material to the tooth. We sculpt and mold the tooth as the material cures beneath a light, and finally we polish it, providing a brighter appearance.
Our team can use dental bonding to mask permanent teeth stains, close embarrassing gaps between the teeth, and also repair cracked or chipped teeth. We can also correct misshapen teeth too!
Contouring Your Teeth
We also have a separate cosmetic treatment that we can use in the same visit. Dental contouring involves gently sanding and buffing the tooth to address common esthetic issues. For example, we can treat the appearance of minor chips, and also address overly large or misshapen teeth too. The procedure can also smooth out grooves, pits, and rough patches in the outer surfaces too. We’ve also used dental contouring to dull, sharp, pointed or overly large portions of tooth structure.
If you have any questions about how we treat multiple esthetic concerns in only one visit, then contact our team today. We would love to schedule a cosmetic consultation to find out what treatments you need to enjoy a stunning new smile!
